The Greenwich Crew women’s youth 2x boat has a smile right now so wide that could be seen all the way back home to Greenwich.

On Sunday afternoon, the Greenwich Crew boat consisting of Alex Slabbert and Melissa Curtis took to the water on Lake Natoma during the USRowing Youth National Championships presented by the Rancho Cordova Travel and Tourism in the finals of the Women’s Youth 2x event.

Greenwich Crew finished the competition second overall and crossed the finish line with a time of 8:05.463 and beat out the Vashon Island boat, who finished third overall with a time of 8:08.655.

The duo of Slabbert and Curtis also made history earlier today. When their boat crossed the finish line, they were the first-ever team from Greenwich Crew to medal at Nationals.
