MakerBot set for summer events

Now situated in its new, permanent Greenwich Avenue location, MakerBot has announced its summer events in town with classes, workshops and lectures for adults and children.

Things kick off on June 14 at 10 a.m. with the MakerBot Store Young Explorers Workshop. Calling the workshop educational and fun, MakerBot says this class lets kids play while learning and designing in 3D thanks to easy to use software. A MakerBot instructor will help children make individual 3D prints on a MakerBot Replicator Desktop 3D Printer at a cost of $10 per child.

Classes are also available on June 21 and June 28, at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and noon.

Then it’s the MakerBot Store Replicator Class for all 3D printing enthusiasts who want to learn how to set up and maintain a MakerBot Replicator for optimal performance.

Adults are invited to join the Greenwich MakerBot Store for a weekly, on-going series that offers hands-on lessons in setting up and maintaining a MakerBot Replicator Desktop 3D Printer. Each class is $45 per person, pre-paid upon registration. A MakerBot Replicator Class will also be available on June 21 at 4 p.m.

There will also be MakerBot Retail Camp with sessions available June 30 to Aug. 14.

With guidance from a MakerBot Retail Operator, campers ages seven to 14-years-old can learn how to make and customize their own 3D print from start to finish.

They’ll use the 3D Photo Booth to make 3D self-portraits to remix with their new creations. From June 30 to Aug. 14, a new session will begin every week, each running from Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sessions are $325 per child.

Registration for all classes is available at For more information visit The MakerBot Store is located at 200 Greenwich Avenue.
