Greenwich Garden Center exhibits local artist today

Carriage House Gardens, in conjunction with The Outside In, will exhibit a selection of new acrylic on board paintings by local landscape artist Frances Wells on Sunday, July 22 from 1 to 5 p.m.

The group says that Ms. Wells, “… deftly captures the fleeting colors reflected on earth and in water of rapidly changing skies caught in transition with exquisitely romantic landscapes from coastal Maine to the Hudson Valley.”

Ms. Wells graduated from Bennington College where she studied painting, drawing and print making with an art faculty, that included Pat Adams, Vincent Longo, Peter Stroud and Jules Olitsky among others. For the last 20 years she has lived on and painted the Hudson River and its surroundings. Her work has been shown in Manhattan, Rockland and Westchester counties and is in over 500 collections throughout the United States and Canada.

Carriage House Gardens, located at 1194 King Street features the work of local artists for indoors and out, interesting garden antiques, ornaments and, of course, trees, shrubs and plants for the garden. For more information call, 203-309-7610 or visit Carriagehousegardens.net.
