Greenwich’s Cheer Fitness Camp set to begin

Another start to the summer means its nearing the start of the annual Cheer Fitness Cheerleading Camp.

The camp, which is run by former Greenwich High and University of Connecticut standout cheerleader Shannon Catalano Pesce, will take place at the Greenwich Western Civic Center gymnasium and is open to children from kindergarten to eighth grade.

In addition, there will be a high school stunting clinic that will also take place at Cheer Fitness.

There are two sessions of Cheer Fitness and sign-up is for either one or both of the sessions.

The first session starts on June 16 and runs to June 20. The second session begins on June 23 and finishes up on June 27.

The cost for the two-weeks is $200 and $140 for only one week.

In the younger group, the cheerleaders will learn to cheer, chant and play constructive cheerleading games. On the last day of each session, parents are welcome to stop by the Civic Center to see the routine that the students learned during their camp experience.

The high school level sessions will be more extensive, working on cheers, chants and stunts. During each session there will be a day where a Zumba instructor, a stunting coodinator and a choreogrpaher will be present

In addition to Pesce, alumni of the GHS cheerleading team will be instructing the students.
