Harvest dinner party at Greenwich Country Club

The Connecticut American Diabetes Association celebrated its first annual Change The Future: Celebrating the Harvest event on Nov. 12 at the Greenwich Country Club to great success.

More than 250 attendees came together to support the association’s goal of a cure for diabetes. The event honored individuals who have had a large impact and this year’s STOP Diabetes Heroes awards went to long time volunteers Pete and Linda Cummin of Greenwich and Michel Nischan, a chef and author who resides in Fairfield.

The night featured a five-course meal paired with fine wines from Chamard Vineyards. The meal showcased a farm to table experience with all locally sourced ingredients. Featured Chefs Keith Armstrong, Frederic Kieffer, Pietro Scotti, Bill Taibe, Edward Varipapa, and celebrity chef Jacques Pepin all generously donated their time and ingredients to prepare the dinner.

All proceeds from the benefit were dedicated to the American Diabetes Association’s mission to prevent and cure diabetes, and to improve the lives of the nearly 24 million children and adults in the United States who have diabetes.
