Greenwich Library extends hours for finals

Studious high schoolers take note, the Greenwich Library will be extending its hours during final exams in June.

In order to accommodate the study needs of students, the library will be staying open on select days.

For Greenwich High School students, the Main Library will remain open until 10 p.m. on Monday, June 16, Tuesday, June 17 and Wednesday, June 18. In addition, the Library Café will extend its hours until 7 p.m. so students can purchase study break snacks.

Dozens of students use the library as a quiet study space during exams, both as individuals and as an ideal location for group study. Library staff will be available to assist with reference questions.

“We are pleased that Greenwich students view the library as their preferred study space and we make sure that they feel welcome,” said Barbara Ormerod-Glynn, Greenwich Library director. “Offering extended hours during these critical weeks gives students much-needed additional time to prepare for their tests.”

The library will be open late primarily for students, but anyone is welcome to use the facility during these extended hours.

As students like to study in groups, the noise level in the library may be a little higher than usual, both during extended hours and regular library hours on exam days.
