Greenwich to offer summer youth swim lessons

The Department of Parks and Recreation announces that registration for summer youth swim lessons is underway.

Classes will range from novice to advanced levels and will be held in half hour time slots on weekday afternoons between the hours of 5 and 8 p.m., ideal for those who attend summer camp during the day.

The five week sessions begin on Friday, June 27 and will conclude on Friday, Aug. 1, with no classes held on July 4. Group class fee is $85 per child, and private lessons are $100 per child. Those wishing to take a private lesson must also be enrolled in a group class.

This summer’s classes will be held at the Greenwich Boys and Girls Club pool, 4 Horseneck Lane. All Town resident youth are welcome to participate; you need not be a member of the Boys and Girls Club.

Residents can now register in person at the Parks & Recreation Office, located in the second floor of Town Hall. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Class space is limited and will be filled on a first come, first served basis.  Applications can be downloaded off the Town of Greenwich web site. Go to, then click on Town Departments, Parks and Recreation, Current Programs and Information. Also, call the Recreation Office at 203-618-7649.
