The Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference announced its seeding for the boys and girls lacrosse teams and Greenwich High School will be well-represented.

In boys and girls lacrosse, the Cardinals will be looking to bring home a state championship.

On the boys side, Greenwich finished the regular season 14-2 and is the No. 2 team in the class L division. Big Red will battle the winner of the play-in game that pits No. 15 seed Shelton against No. 18 seed Fairfield Ludlowe at Cardinal Stadium on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

If Greenwich advances, they will face off against the winner of No. 7 seed Newtown and 10th seed Fairfield Prep in the quarterfinals.

Overall, Simsbury is the top-seeded team in the class L division, with a perfect 15-0 record. Right below the Cardinals will be third-seed Ridgefield High School, which will play the winner of the Xavier and Hamden High game.

Other FCIAC teams in the class L tournament will be No. 9 seed Staples, 11th seed Fairfield Warde, 1th seed Brien McMahon High School and 16th seed Trumbull High.

The Greenwich High girls lacrosse team will also be playing in the CIAC class L tournament. The Lady Cardinals, with a 9-6 regular season record, will be the 13th seed in the postseason and will travel to No. 4 Hall High School on Tuesday afternoon at 5.

The winner of that game will advance to the quarterfinal round and play either fifth-seed Fairfield Warde High School or No. 12 seed West Haven High School on Thursday afternoon at the highest seed.

Overall, Glastonbury is the top-seed in class L girls lacrosse with a 16-0 record. The highest FCIAC team is ranked third, as Darien High School will play the winner of the play-in game that pits fellow FCIAC foe Danbury against Shelton High School.

In addition to Greenwich, Fairfield Warde, 14th seed Danbury and Darien, Staples High School is seeded 10th in class L and Fairfield Ludlowe will be competing in the postseason as an 18th seed.
