Injuries reported, but none thought to be serious, after school bus accident

A bus of students from Stanwich School was reportedly involved in an accident on Wednesday afternoon, resulting in injuries.

According to Greenwich Police Department Public Information Officer Lt. Kraig Gray, none of the injuries are considered to be serious though. The school is notifying parents and no further details about the accident, other than that it involved one vehicle and took place on Stanwich Road, have been released yet. Reports have listed as many as 16 injured and they have been taken to both Greenwich and Stamford Hospital.

The students involved were of high school age according to police. Stanwich School could not be reached for immediate comment.  The school is set to celebrate its first commencement Thursday night, a historic event for the independent school in town, as it marks its first graduating class of high school seniors.
