Byram Neighborhood Association launches fund-raising campaign

The Byram Neighborhood Association (BNA) has joined forces with charitable organization Needs Clearing House to raise money and supplies to support local Byram Volunteer fireman.

Over the years, the Byram community has seen many changes. One critical change is the significant drop in the volunteer program at the Byram firehouse. Currently, there are two full time paid fireman on staff per shift. The community depends on the volunteer program to provide much needed assistance on calls.

Through the leadership of veteran volunteers Aaron Stahl and John Thompson, along with the efforts of the town recruitment volunteer Chief Brian Kelly, Byram is once again building its volunteer base. However, there are many basic items that volunteers need that are not paid for by the town.

The BNA is looking to community to help support the Byram firehouse by donating. Proceeds would help provide volunteers with some basic needs that would attract future volunteers, along with helping to maintain a healthy level of volunteers. Some examples  are: Internet access, break room accommodations, uniforms and communication equipment.

The fundraising goals is $5,000, which would meet all needs of the volunteer program, and also provide a cushion for starting future fundraising programs.

Checks should be made payable to The Byram Neighborhood Association and mailed to The Byram Neighborhood Association, c/o Mike Bocchino, BVFD Appeal, 7 Tingue ST, Greenwich CT 06830.
