Bike ride made for a memorable Mother’s Day

FI-Letter-to-the-EditorTo the Editor

Last Sunday the 12th Annual Mother’s Day Bike Ride kicked off spring with family fun, entertainment and great community involvement.

Presented by the Old Greenwich-Riverside Community Center (OGRCC) and Greenwich Safe Cycling, a couple hundred bike riders rode from Old Greenwich Elementary School to Greenwich Point and back. Local bike shops Dave’s Cycle and Fitness, River Bicycles and Greenwich Bicycles were on hand to provide free bike inspections do some tune-ups and help educate people on the care and maintenance necessary to spend a safe and enjoyable summer on the roads.

The OGRCC would like to thank its sponsoring partners who not only made this a great day, but who helped us raise money for the OGRCC Scholarship Fund. Thank you to Orthopedic and Neurosurgery Specialists (ONS) of Greenwich, Longford’s Ice Cream, Griffith Harris Insurance, Saint Saviour’s School of Dance, Children’s Medical Group of Greenwich, Health SOS, Chillybear, the Old Greenwich Farmers’ Market, Kings, Equinox, Pacific Swim/Bike/Run, Fareri Associates, Upper Crust Café, the Riverside Association and the Old Greenwich Association for all your support.

And a special thank-you to Josh Ford, our wonderful guitar and ukulele playing singer, who entertained folks all morning long.
