Greenwich Education Group hosts boarding school fair on Tuesday

The Greenwich Education Group’s fourth annual Boarding School Fair will be on Tuesday, May 20, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., at Chelsea Piers.

More than 80 boarding schools will be on hand to meet students and their families and answer questions. For families who have never considered boarding school, the fair offers the opportunity to become acquainted with the array of options in the area.

The group says that although parents may have trepidation about sending their children to boarding school — fearing that boarding schools are havens for children of privilege or refuges for troubled teens — boarding schools serve a diverse group of motivated students who study and live in supportive, inclusive academic communities. Boarding schools are experts in managing teenagers and are excellent partners in helping students develop into responsible adults, the group says. Many parents find that relationships are strengthened when their teens have the carefully supervised independence that boarding schools provide, they say.
