Greenwich Hospital honors Friesen

Greenwich Hospital recognized Quinton Friesen as the recipient of its 23nd Annual Marian Nowak Award at its recent yearly employee service awards dinner.

A Greenwich resident, Mr. Friesen has been the hospital’s Executive Vice President and COO since 1993.

He was presented the award by Frank Corvino, Greenwich Hospital President and CEO.

Inspired by the work ethic of a past employee, the Marian Nowak award is given each year to an individual who consistently demonstrates dedication, hard work, kindness and humility to co-workers and patients.

Mr. Nowak, who died in 1989, spent 41 years as a member of the hospital’s pharmacy staff.

“Over the past two decades, Quinton has served Greenwich Hospital in an extraordinary fashion. He embodies each quality admired in Marian Nowak but none so much as humility,” Mr. Corvino said during the presentation.

He later added that, “As a leader he has inspired our organization while being its humble steward.

“I believe that his best work is rebuilding more than a physical campus. It encompasses rebuilding and nurturing a culture that defines its most important value as people.”
