Tie-dye daze

Ms. Kwiatkowski’s Literature class at Eagle Hill School in Greenwich recently finished reading the book ‘Schooled’ by Gordon Korman. In the story, Cap Anderson, a new boy at school, makes his own clothes and thus looks different than the others. Over time, students start to look beyond the appearance of Cap and appreciate who he is on the inside. At one point in the book, Cap teaches the whole school how to tie-dye their own shirts. The idea so intrigued Ms. Kwiatkowksi’s students that tie-dying their own shirts became their next class project. Sometimes, as the students discovered, being different is the best thing to be.
