Yoga enthusiasts gather July 14

Residents already involved with yoga meditation or anyone curious about the practice is invited to “socialize with God and nature” on July 14 at Island Beach from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event will feature Kala Iyengar, a spiritual teacher from the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual Organization that has taught Raja Yoga Meditation for more than 30 years. Organizers promise a day of spiritual talk, insightful conversations and a guided meditation.

Anyone participating should meet at the Island Beach ferry pickup at 100 Arch Street before catching the 10 a.m. ferry that morning. People coming are urged to be at the dock entrance at 9:30. Residents with beach pass and car stickers will only have to pay the $4 for the ferry and those without or people from out of town can either pay the $20 parking lot fee or use the $5 commuter lot about 1,000 feet away. Non-beach card holders will have to pay a $10 fee for the ferry and $5 for the pass to enter the beach.

A pure vegetarian lunch will be served.
