Make a ‘Splash’ for Greenwich Police Explorers this weekend

With the sun coming out and the weather forecast to be nice, it will be the perfect weekend for people to get their cars washed and help out the Greenwich Police Explorers in the process.

On Saturday, May 10, and Sunday, May 11, Splash Car Wash at 625 West Putnam Avenue will be holding a benefit for the explorers to help raise money for their upcoming trip to the 2014 National Law Enforcement Explorer Conference in July. People coming in to get their cars washed those days can help the kids and get their vehicles looking great in the process.

The Greenwich Police Explorers operate under the Law Enforcement Exploring Program, in association with the Boy Scouts of America and are members of the Northeast Regional Law Enforcement Education Association (NERLEEA). The widely praised program is designed to give Greenwich teens a chance to get involved in the community through positive activities while also provide elementary law enforcement training.

The goal of the Explorers is to show teenagers how they can gain leadership and responsibility roles, to promote a spirit of cooperation through personal growth and group development and to also to give those teens a chance to see firsthand what the Greenwich Police Department is truly like, providing positive examples of law enforcement.

Splash will be open this weekend from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the fund-raiser.
