Greenwich YMCA hosts financial literacy lecture

Does the world of finance and investment confuse you? You’re not the only one and a lecture is coming to Greenwich to try and help create that understanding.

A two-day lecture entitled Making Sense of the World of Finance: Financial Literacy will be presented by Bob Salomon on Friday, May 16 and Monday, May 19 from 10 a.m. to noon at the YMCA of Greenwich.

The event is free and open to all but participants should first pick up a copy of the Wall Street Journal on May 16 because it will be referred to and used through the presentation.

Mr. Salomon has spent more than 40 years working on Wall Street in various capacities including chief investment officer at a major trust bank, director of research at a major investment bank and CEO of a major investment management firm.

He has also been a regular columnist at Forbes, an independent director of Merrill Lynch and BlackRock mutual funds and a trustee of Commonfund.

He has also assisted in running an investment program held at Princeton University.

The YMCA is located at 50 East Putnam Avenue.
