Greenwich High boys laxmen notch key win over New Canaan, 11-8

For the past two seasons, the New Canaan High School boys lacrosse team has had their way with Greenwich. In the previous four meetings, the Rams have been on the winning side of the scoreboard. However this time around, Big Red was able to exact some revenge and came away with the hard-fought 11-8 victory over NCHS.

The Cardinals were led by Decker Curran, who finished with three goals and three assists. Not to be outdone was Luke Finneran, who added two goals and led the way with four assists. Kyle Foote added two goals to help GHS.

The combo of Bobby Goggin, Will Perry, John Tooher and Scooter Harrington each finished with one goal.

For the Rams, Michael Kraus led the way with three goals and two assists. Teammates Justin Meichner and Harry Stanton added two goals.

In net, Tomm Rogan was stellar for Greenwich, finishing with 15 saves on the day. New Canaan’s Trent Nader added seven saves.

With the victory, Greenwich moved its record to 9-1 on the season while New Canaan fell to 7-2.
