Greenwich High girls tennis blanks St. Joseph, 7-0

The Greenwich High School girls tennis team swept through St. Joseph High School earlier today, coming away with the 7-0 victory.

Leading the way for the Cardinals was Anna Daccache at No. 1 singles. She was able to put away St. Joe’s Samantha Rudini 6-0, 6-1 and set the pace for Big Red. At No. 2 singles, Greenwich’s Maddie Arnold finished off her opponent, Lauren Hensley, 6-0, 6-3.

At No. 3 singles, Big Red’s Maggie Glynn had little trouble getting past St. Joe’s Neil Condron, winning 6-1, 6-2. At No 4 singles, the Cards’ Hannah Kratky had the most dominating match of the game, pulling away from Kathryn Fitzsimmons and winning 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles, Greenwich was able to net three more victories in dominating fashion, as the Cadets were unable to net a single point on the day. The Greenwich High teams of Julia Akerman and Lizzie Griffin, Lean Schipper and Reilly Sheets, as well as Isabelle Janssen and Maitlyn Murphy all scored 6-0, 6-0 wins.

With the victory, the Lady Cardinals move to 8-0 on the season and will be back in action tomorrow when they resume play against Norwalk High School.
