JCC Greenwich, PJ Library hold literacy panel

What’s your read on your child’s reading? PJ Library of Greenwich and JCC Greenwich are highlighting reading readiness from pre-kindergarten through second grade at a special panel on Tuesday, May 6 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Greenwich Library Reading Room.

The informative discussion will be led by early childhood educator and tutor Penny Goffman-Vazquez. Joining Ms. Goffman-Vazquez at the roundtable are: Deirdre Sullivan, a children’s librarian at Greenwich Library; Bobby Powers, the director of Educational Resources at Carmel Academy and Andrea Silvia, a fellow of the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educator.

“Parents approach me all the time with questions and worries about their child’s development, specifically in reading. People will come out of this night with a better understanding of their own children,” said Ms. Goffman-Vazquez.

The event is free and open to the public. Additional information and registration are available at Jccgreenwich.org or 203-552-1818. Greenwich Library is located at 101 West Putnam Avenue.
