This year’s kickoff of the YWCA’s annual Old Bags Collection Luncheon was another success, with the collection of dozens of great handbags for auction at the May 8 event.

The kickoff, held at the home of Alease Fisher Tallman, is just the beginning of efforts for this year’s ninth annual, perennially sold-out, Old Bags Luncheon, which will be held at the Belle Haven Club.

The hand bags collected are featured in live and silent auctions, with proceeds going exclusively to YWCA Domestic Abuse Services and the domestic violence victims it serves.  Co-chairs of the 2014 Old Bags Luncheon are YWCA Greenwich board members Shelly Tretter Lynch, Emma Pennington, Jordan Rhodes and Judith Wertheimer.

Greenwich jeweler Terry Betteridge will serve as the auctioneer for the fourth consecutive year.

YWCA Greenwich 2014 Old Bags Corporate Partners include Ralph Lauren, Saks, Richards, Vintage Vines and Wine Wise.
