Lecture on investing in art set for Wednesday morning

The Virginia Barrett Gallery is holding a lecture Wednesday, July 11 with a simple message…now is the right time to invest in fine art.

The first discussion shall be held on Wednesday morning from 11am to noon at the Virginia Barrett Gallery at 1055 North Street in Greenwich. The lecture will be open to the public.

Ms. Barrett has outposts for fine art throughout the country and believes that an original piece of fine art is always a sound investment because it is one of a kind; the patron owns something that no one else can acquire.

According to a gallery press release, Ms Barrett has represented many of her artists for decades and has seen the value of their work steadily increase over the years. The caliber and pedigree of the artists represented in the gallery signify that the work will never go out of style. The media today often takes precedent over any emotional involvement that the viewer might have with the work. That is craft and not fine art. Ms Barrett doesn’t believe that the value of fine art is tied to its price tag.
