Greenwich Education Group announces poetry contest

Greenwich Education Group (GEG) is celebrating National Poetry Month by looking for emerging poets in grades ninth to 12th.

GEG invites creative expression and interpretation of the theme “By the time I turn 20” in an original poem.

Student poets may submit one original poem, of no more than 20 lines, accompanied by a completed entry form.

The deadline for submissions is Thursday, May 15 at 4 p.m. Poems will be judged for originality, creativity and artistic quality. There are no entry fees, and no purchase is required. Amazon gift cards for $100, $50 and $25 will be awarded for first, second and third place winners respectively. Winners will be announced on June 1, notified by phone or email. The winners and their poems will be published on the GEG website. To enter the contest, visit and click on Academic Services. On the 2014 Poetry Contest page, print out the Entry Form.
