Public support needed for Witherell’s Project Renew

FI-Letter-to-the-EditorTo the Editor

Connecticut has the fifth highest percentage of residents over the age of 65 in our nation, and the needs of our aging population are monumental, such as skilled nursing care, rehabilitation and physical therapy after surgery, and support for those suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

Nathaniel Witherell helps meets those needs. For many years, I have witnessed the professional care and compassionate concern evidenced by the entire Nathaniel Witherell family. Its medical staff, administrators, and community volunteers are dedicated to making sure residents are engaged and energized: the care provided is unequaled and it is about to get even better.

Completely renovating the existing physical plant and bringing it into health code compliance while creating an up-to-date rehabilitation/physical therapy capability is the goal of Witherell’s Project Renew. Thanks to the generosity of individual donors we are now halfway home to reaching our $7-million capital campaign fund-raising target.

We are all living longer and we are working hard to assure that we are all living better. Won’t you join us in this public-private partnership to improve health care outcomes in a cost-effective, sustainable and efficient manner?

With your help, Nathaniel Witherell, always a Greenwich treasure, will be a jewel restored to its full luster.
