Sacred Heart lacrosse bounces back with win over Greens Farms

After falling to Greenwich Academy on Saturday, the Convent of the Sacred Heart had a bounce back game Tuesday afternoon. Traveling to Westport, the Tigers won a thriller against Greens Farms Academy, 12-11.

With six minutes to play in the contest, Sacred Heart was down 10-7, however the Tigers clawed back into the game. With 1:28 to play, Emma Novick netted the game-tying goal. Shortly after, Alice Millerchip scored the game-winning goal for Sacred Heart with four seconds to play.

The Tigers were paced by Novick, who scored four goals. Not to be outdone was Millerchip, who finished with the hat trick. Katie Miller added two goals, while Colleen O’Neill scored one goal and Kate Larkin added one goal and one assist.

GFA’s leading scorer was Ingrid Ball, as she finished with three goals. Tia Carson and Kate Paliotta each added two goals in the losing effort.

With the victory, Sacred Heart upped its overall record to 6-4 on the season. The loss pushed the Dragons to the same 6-4 mark on the season. The Tigers will be back in action Thursday when they play St. Luke’s.
