Greenwich High girls tennis blanks Westhill High, 7-0

The Greenwich High School girls tennis team had little trouble during its match earlier today against Westhill High School, pulling away early and netting the 7-0 victory.

At No. 1 singles, Anna Daccache finished off Westhill’s Julie Arditti, 6-1, 6-0. Not to be outdone was No. 2 singles player Maddie Arnold, who upended Amanda Weisel 6-1, 6-1. At No. 3 singles, Big Red’s Maggie Glynn beat Westhill’s Quinn Devin 6-0, 6-4.

Rounding out the singles competition was Hannah Kratky, as the GHS tennis player beat Hannah Safter 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles, Big Red was just as strong, as they won all three doubles matches.

At No. 1 singles was Julia Akerman and Lizzie Griffin, as the took care of Ellie Grafster and Alex Bergman 6-1, 6-0. At No. 2 singles, the Cards’ Lean Schipper and Reilly Sheets had little issues against Naina Batra and Alex Paseiax, winning 6-0, 6-1.

Finishing the scoring for Greenwich was Isabelle Janssen and Maitlyn Murphy at No. 3 singles, as they blitzed the Westhill duo of Jenna Abrams and Shana Virtudes 6-1, 6-2.

With the victory, Greenwich High improved to 7-0 on the season.
