Greenwich Academy golf goes to 8-0 with wins over Hotchkiss, Taft

Add two more victories to the Greenwich Academy golf team’s record. The Gators moved to 8-0 overall by beating Hotchkiss 5-0 and Taft 3 1/2 – 1 1/2 earlier today at a windy Round Hill Country Cub.

Greenwich Academy’s Susana Vik had little trouble beating Hotchkiss School’s Holland Flinn, winning 5 & 4. However against Taft’s Jackie Eleey, Vik forced her opponent all square.

GA’s No. 2 golfer, Rachel Oates, finished off both Hotchkiss School’s Charlotte Scott and Taft School’s Legare Augenstein by the same 5 & 4 score. Not to be outdone was GA’s Caroline Zhao, as she beat Hotchkiss School’s Tierney Auerback 5 & 4 and took care of Taft’s Megan Foos 1 up.

Jessica Yacohucci also netted a 1 up in her victory against Taft School’s Marissa Mission. The Gators’ golfer also scored a victory over Hotchkiss School’s Audrey Roh 5 & 4.

Hope Matthews split her matches on the afternoon. She beat Hotchkiss School’s McKenna Ingerson 3 & 2 but fell to Pan Naviroi of Taft School 4 & 3.

The Gators will be back in action Monday afternoon when they travel to Apawamis Monday to face Rye Country Day School.
