Greenwich High girls track smashed Westhill, Harding

The Greenwich High School girls track and field team picked up two wins yesterday, beating Westhill High School 150-39 and Warren Harding High School 137-3.

Big Red had a dual first place winner in the tri-meet, as Lindsay Alfano won the long jump with a distance of 14’6″ and took care of the competition in the triple jump, netting a distance of 30’5″.Also in the field events, Sarah Cicchetti came home with win in the discus throw, posting a distance of 101’10”. She also struck gold in the shot put, grabbing a distance of 32’9″.

Not to be outdone was Anna Black in the track events. She won the 400-meter dash with a time of 61.7 seconds and came in first again during the 200-meter dash, posting a time of 26.8.

In the 100-meter high hurdles, Emily Wu was first with a time of 17.4. Anna Giannuzzi struck gold in the 100-meter dash, posting a time of 13.1. Competing in the 800-meter run was Jenny Goggin, as she took first with a time of 2:25.6.

Competing in the hurdles events, Vitoria Galbier won the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 53.9. Rounding out the scoring for Greenwich was Jenna Kahn, as she took first in the high jump with a height of 4’6″.
