Talking about human beings

FI-Letter-to-the-EditorTo the Editor

Nobody talks about human beings. They talk of statistics and polls with the government out for whatever.

Part of a line from The Third Man, Orson Wells states nobody talks about human beings. That classic 1946 movie was surreal in many ways, as I now see life becoming. With my complaints about celebrities and Jane Fonda especially I wonder how our world will survive without human beings.

You can’t tell me that most folks look at themselves as human beings because so many are floundering in this self centered world. I’d like to turn around to when academics pointed out ways for us to work towards bettering our neighbors lives and in doing so bettering our own. For if we all were our brother’s keeper and if we all took care of each other, what a wonderful world we would live in.

If my complaints about “Hanoi Jane” lead to Ms. Fonda coming out to me and stating that now, so many years later, she sees that her accounting for past Vietnam era deeds, it could help righten the ship. I am ready to not only be the first customer for “Celebrity Offenders Boot Camp” but I also want to help orchestrate its operation.

Through my years of experiences and human interaction since the Vietnam era I can help try to create better citizens, who participate in productive creative efforts to build a better world. It’s wishful thinking but what are we without our dreams? I have worked towards starting a facility that would help creative people see their need to contribute towards making life and lives better.

In this creative area I picked, I envision taking up or championing programs to make role models more responsible. I’m hoping that situations and conditions will come to pass and I can see a day when all are creatively successful and responsible for their neighbors.
