Sacred Heart lacrosse holds halftime lead, ties Choate 11-11

The Convent of the Sacred Heart lacrosse team hosted Choate Rosemary Hall yesterday afternoon, and although the Tigers held a 5-2 halftime lead, they were unable to break through.

Choate outscored Sacred Heart 8-5 in the second half and both teams were only able to muster a goal in overtime as the two school tied 11-11.

Sacred Heart, which outshot Choate 20-14 in the game, was led by Emma Novick, who finished with four goals. Not to be outdone was Colleen O’Neill who finished with two goals. Alice Millerchip added a goal and a assist, while teammate Kate Larkin finished with a goal.

Joining Larkin with one goal was Kate Burkett, Mo Leitner and Katie Miller. Alex Foley and Charlie Clark each added an assist.

For Choate, Allison Williams and KC Williams each recorded a hat tricl, while Brooke Hodgson finished with two goals.

In net, Sacred Heart’s Amanda Crowell finished with three saves, while her counterpart, Serena Sommerfield finished with seven save.

With the tie, the Tigers moved to 4-2-1 on the season, while Choate went to 3-2-1 overall.
