Online support groups created to help caregivers

Caring for a loved one can be rewarding but challenging and Jewish Family Services is hoping to make the load a bit lighter with its online support group programming.

These groups offer professional counseling and a caring community. Online support groups are confidential, secure, and easy to use. Video conferencing is provided through JFS’s exclusive partnership with Vidyo, which is recommended by Forrester Research as having “the best overall video quality and performance.”

For caregivers there is  a group that runs for eight weeks, every Wednesday, beginning April 23, from 4 to 5 p.m. The program is facilitated by Jan Mittleman, LCSW.

There is a $160 fee to participate, potentially with a sliding scale fees. For more details, contact Lisa-Lorraine Smith, LCSW, at 203-622-1881 or [email protected]
