The Easter Bunny will be on hand to help children hunt for eggs at the annual Greenwich Lions event on April 12.

Kids can enjoy a day searching for candy-filled eggs and even get a photo with the Easter Bunny at the Greenwich Lions & ShopRite’s Annual Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 12 at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park.

The gate will open at 10:30 a.m. and the first hunt is set for 11 a.m. Numerous hunts for different age groups will be staged at intervals thereafter. The event is co-sponsored by the Greenwich Parks and Recreation Department.

All are invited and there are certainly enough eggs for the hunt, with more than 15,000 eggs stuffed with candy and coupons, thanks to the Greenwich Lions Club. There will be separate hunts for different age groups and multiple “fields” to better accommodate the crowds of egg hunters.

In addition, there will be a variety of other activities including temporary tattoos, face painting, kids’ crafts, and visits with Fidelco Guide Dogs.

Tickets are $10 and will be available at the gate. All proceeds will benefit Low Vision projects supported by the Greenwich Lions, in addition to other local programs. In the chance of inclement weather, there is a rain date of Sunday, April 13, at 1 p.m.
