Greenwich High girls lax notches 14-4 win over Ludlowe

The Greenwich High School girls lacrosse team started its season on the road but still had little trouble upending Fairfield Ludlowe High School, winning 14-4.

Carolyn Paletta finished with a game-high five goals and added one assist. Maddy Graves netted two goals, but also scored an assist. Hannah Koorbusch finished with one goal, but also led the Lady Cardinals with four assists.

Anne Dunster was also solid in the victory, finishing with one goal and two assists. The group of Anne Dunster, Grace Paletta, and Meghan Collins each finished with one goal and one assist, while Paige Mautner, Natalie Paletta and Amy Wyle each finished with one goal.

“We really had a great team effort today,” Greenwich High School head coach Caitlin Keane said. “We started off timid, but our confidence grew with every play. The defense was strong throughout the game, led by Nicole Graham, Emily Ludington, Caitlin Brady and Sloan Caan.”

For Ludlowe, Bryce McClure paced the team with two goals, while Sophie Butcher and Miranda Rosenfeld each added one goal and one assist.

“Our of 14 goals, 10 of them were assisted, which is great,” Keane said. “The girls are really growing as a team and getting stronger with each game they play.”
