Greenwich Antiques Society presents rug lecture

Get insider expert tips on oriental rugs at a lecture on Monday, April 7 at 1:15 p.m. at the Bruce Museum.

Through the Expert’s Eye… Exploring the Mystery of Oriental Rugs is presented by the Greenwich Antiques Society. Speaking at the event is Ada Ustjanauskas, an independent rug consultant and owner of Ada E. Ustjanauskas Antique Rugs in Old Greenwich.

Ms. Ustjanauskas will speak on how the “expert” examines an oriental rug, discussing quality of materials, design and weave. There will be a short film and a slide presentation to discuss design details, which offer clues as to who or where a particular rug originates from, as well as a hands-on after the lecture to compare qualities.

There will be refreshments immediately following lecture. Admission for non-members of the Greenwich Antiques Society is $20. Space is limited.

Reservations are  required for members and guests by March 31. For reservations and information, email [email protected] or call 203-869-6437.
