Virtuoso pianist Jon Nakamatsu makes his return to Greenwich to perform Rachmaninoff’s beloved Piano Concerto No. 2 on April 5 and 6 with the Greenwich Symphony.

Mr. Nakamatsu is a favorite on the concert circuit throughout the world as well as in the recording studio. In 1997 he won the Gold Medal at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. In April 2011, his debut recital at the Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art was reviewed with high praise from The New York Times.

His program with the Greenwich Symphony will also include Samuel Barber’s Essay No. 3 and Paris-Song of a Great City by Frederick Delius.

The concerts will take place on Saturday, April 5 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, April 6 at 4 p.m. at Greenwich High School Auditorium. A free, pre-concert lecture will be given by Associate Conductor Tara Simoncic one hour before each performance.
