Greenwich boutique Splurge holds Easter Basket Drive

You can help children of all ages enjoy Easter by donating filled Easter baskets through Wednesday, April 16 at Splurge, located at 39 Lewis Street.

A local Easter tradition, this will continue for the seventh consecutive year at the local boutique as Splurge partners with Kids in Crisis and the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County in the Easter basket drive.

Cellophane wrapped Easter baskets can be filled with items for children aged two to 17 and can include toys, journals, decks of cards, personal care items, gift cards, packaged healthy snacks and traditional Easter candy. To thank individuals for their generosity, anyone who donates an Easter basket will receive $10 off a purchase of $30 or more valid until April 19.

To add to the Easter fun, the Easter Bunny will be making a special appearance at Splurge on Saturday, April 5 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Professional children’s photographer, Jamie Collins, from Jamie Collins Photography will take photos of children with the Easter Bunny. Everyone will receive a free 4 x 6 portrait and all shoppers will enjoy an exclusive discount of 20% off photo frames during the event.

Splurge’s owner, Sonia Sotire Malloy said, “Year after year our clients have been extremely generous with Easter Basket donations and we are truly grateful for their continued support of our annual event.”

Shari Shapiro, Executive Director at Kids in Crisis, added. “We are so grateful for the Easter basket collection conducted by Sonia and Splurge for the children staying in our shelter. Through this generous donation, our children can celebrate and experience special occasions such as this, just like everyone else. We thank Splurge for its heartfelt community service effort,” said Ms. Shapiro, in a press release.

“Every morning the children residing in shelters awake and open the door to their room and enter the common area. Every Easter for the past six years, Splurge has made this routine very different. On Easter morning because of Splurge, when the children open their door there is a beautiful Easter Basket sitting there waiting to be unwrapped,” said Kate Lombardo, Executive Director of the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County said.

Splurge is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. For more information, call 203-869-7600 or email [email protected] Schools and organizations interested in contributing to the Splurge Easter basket drive should contact Ms. Malloy.
