DAR sponsors Revolutionary event

Join the Putnam Hill chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution at its Revolutionary Days event on Sunday, March 30 from 1 to 4 p.m., and experience the life and times of soldiers during the American War for Independence.

Boys and girls will be able to enlist and drill with the Continental Army.

Other attractions include military encampments, soldiers performing tactical exercises, battlefield surgeons, horses and riders, and even an interview with General Putnam. There will also be a clothing exhibit where visitors will be able to see firsthand how colonial ladies dressed.

The event will be set to the music of the time, with fiddles, fifes, drums and more.

Putnam Cottage is located at 243 East Putnam Avenue. Parking is available next door at the Junior League and around the corner at the First Church of Christ Scientist, at 11 Park Avenue. There is a gate leading to the cottage. Admission is $5 per person and is dedicated to the preservation of the cottage.
