The First Presbyterian Church Nursery School (FPCNS) Outreach calendar kicked off with a successful Winter Fair celebration on Jan. 31.

The event featured a visit between the FPCNS nursery students and the First Steps nursery students at Armstrong Court.

The second annual Winter Fair was created by FPCNS’s Trisha Estill and Jennifer Flatow of Family Centers as an event to bring like-aged children together and find common ground working on a seasonal and age appropriate project.

This year, FPCNS parents April Larken, Nida Schmedlen and Natalie Chodos joined forces to co-chair the morning.

FPCNS Bridges children and their parents were warmly welcomed by four classrooms of First Steps students and their teachers. Together, the children decorated wooden picture frames for their families and listened to winter-inspired stories from parents and FPCNS director Patricia Bria Case. The morning ended with snacks and laughter as all the children sat together to enjoy clementines and pretzels.

“We had another wonderfully successful morning with the children of Armstrong Court. I’m grateful to Family Centers and Jennifer Flatow for their support in continuing to make these collaborations a success,” Ms. Estill said.
