League of Women Voters offers look into Greenwich government

Curious about the ins and outs of town government? Look no further than the League of Women Voters of Greenwich’s panel discussion Our Town Government  on Tuesday, April 1 at 7 p.m.

The talk will focus on the structure of the Greenwich town government and its governing boards, commissions, and agencies. Town experts will spotlight three areas — land use, schools, and taxes — and share information about how residents can get involved and affect policy.

The panel includes Jara Burnett, League of Women Voters of Greenwich, Diane Fox, Director of Planning and Zoning; Leslie Lee, Chair, Selectmen’s Nominating Advisory Committee (SNAC), William McKersie, Superintendent of Schools; Larry Simon, from the Retirement Board and a former Board of Estimate and Taxation member, First Selectman Peter Tesei and State Rep. Steve Walko (R-150).

This program is free and all are invited. Participants will leave with a better understanding of the town’s local government.

The event is presented by the League of Women Voters of Greenwich in partnership with the Greenwich Association of Realtors, the Town’s neighborhood associations, the PTA Council, and SNAC.

Following the discussion, there will be a dessert reception. The event will take place in Town Hall’s Meeting Room.
