Greenwich resident Peter Duane Juan, 57, died March 16 in Ponte Vedra, Fla.

He was born Dec. 17, 1956, to Rosemary Coyne Juan and the late Henry W. Juan Jr. He graduated in 1974 from Brunswick School where he was an All-League Varsity Football player and co-captain of the Brunswick Varsity Basketball team.

He continued his education at Rollins College and subsequently attended Cambridge University in the United Kingdom, where he earned his L.L.M. master of law degree from Magdalene College. He practiced law at Shea & Gould in New York City where he specialized in immigration and zoning law. In 1998, he opened his own law practice in both Greenwich and Jacksonville, Fla.

He was a member of the Greenwich Country Club and the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club.

Mr. Juan is survived by a son, Tucker Gibbs Juan, of Jacksonville, Fla.; his mother, Rosemary; his sister and brother, Pamela Juan Hayes and Henry W. Juan III; and his nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Hall Juan and Henry Alexander Juan, all from Greenwich.

A private family burial took place on March 28 at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Convent of the Sacred Heart, 1177 King Street, Greenwich, CT 06831.
