Pianist Chiu to perform with Greenwich Symphony

Up and coming pianist Frederic Chiu will be performing for the Greenwich Symphony Orchestra.

On Saturday, March 15, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, March 16, at 4 p.m., the Greenwich Symphony will present pianist Frederic Chiu, performing Sergei Prokofiev’s exuberant Piano Concerto No. 3.

Mr. Chiu is the winner of numerous piano competitions and awards, including the Petscheck Award from the Juilliard School, the American Pianists Association fellowship, and the 1996 Avery Fisher Career Grant.

He has toured extensively in the United States and Europe as well as in Japan and China. His more than 20 recordings include the complete piano works for Prokofiev as well as popular classics of Chopin and Liszt. Both concerts will take place at Greenwich High School Auditorium.

A free, pre-concert lecture will be given by Associate Conductor Tara Simoncic one hour before each performance. Tickets are $30 for adults, $10 for students.
