First Bank holds artist reception

View artist Marco Gallotta’s unique style of creating art with paper at a reception on Wednesday, March 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the First Bank of Greenwich as part of an ongoing series highlighting notable artists at the bank.

Mr. Gallotta is the current featured artist of the First Bank, and his work will be on display from Feb. 25 through March 30. He is an Italian-born, New York-based artist whose craft consists mostly of paper-cutting techniques, drawing, painting, and printmaking. He finds inspiration in New York’s urban landscape, distinct artistic facets, and diverse population. From his studio in West Harlem, he utilizes expertise in mixed media techniques to create works with a unique combination of artisan craftsmanship and graphic sensibility. His clients include Nike, Radio City Music Hall and legendary Italian composer, Ennio Morricone.

The reception will be a lighthearted affair, with food provided by Pomodoro Trattoria, music by rock guitarist Norm Dodge and wine and other beverages by Randy’s Wines & Spirits. To accommodate all guests, there will be an overflow parking shuttle available every 10 minutes that travels to and from Cos Cob Fire Station parking lot to the bank.
