Third graders at Hamilton Avenue Magnet School were able to see their handiwork on view at Greenwich Historical Society.

The exhibition, which opened on Feb. 6, features quilts made by the students over the course of the past four years.

The project is the result of a special museum-school partnership.

Throughout the school year, students had the opportunity to visit the Historical Society and learn firsthand about town history.

The quilts serve as a colorful reflection of what students saw and studied. Subjects include everything from depictions of the New Nation Rooms to re-creations of works of art hung throughout National Historic Landmark Bush-Holley House. When pieced together, the panels represent a “lasting collective memory of the students’ visit to the site.”

The exhibition will be on display at the Historical Society’s Storehouse Gallery until March 16.

The exhibit will be open from Wednesday to Sunday, noon to 4 p.m. Admission is free to all Hamilton Avenue School students, alumni and their families. General admission to Bush-Holley House (by guided tour) and the museum gallery is free to members, $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and students and free for children six years old and under.

Admission is free to the public the first Wednesday of each month.

Greenwich Historical Society Storehouse Gallery is located at 39 Strickland Road. For more information, visit Greenwichhistory.org.
