For the love of Israel

The entire Greenwich community is invited to an event saluting The Ayelet Hashachar Institutions at the Bruce Museum on Monday, Feb. 24 from 7 to 9:30 p.m.

The night will feature a panel with Chabad of Greenwich’s Rabbi Yossi Deren and Aharon Ackerman, deputy director of Ayelet Hashachar. In addition, Avihai Peretz will discuss his compelling personal story.

His brother, Uriel Peretz dreamed of becoming the first IDF chief of staff of Moroccan descent. At age 22, he was killed in Lebanon in 1998. His brother, Eliraz, died in action 12 years later while serving in Gaza, leaving a wife and four children. Members of the Peretz family continue to enlist in top combat units and the family was honored by Chief of General Staff Gabi Ashkenazi.

The event will also honor Sandy Oster in memory of her husband, Steve Oster.

Tickets will be $25, and a buffet sushi dinner will be served.
