Music Director Eugene Sirotkine will lead a program based around Bach’s memorable work.

Come to the 10 a.m. service at Round Hill Community Church on Sunday, Feb. 23, for a morning full of Bach’s music.

Under the direction of Music Director Eugene Sirotkine, the music from four Bach cantatas will be carefully woven into worship.

The choir will sing chorales and choruses and soprano soloist Risa Renae Harman will sing an aria, all enhanced with Bach’s rich instrumental accompaniment.

In the early 18th century, Bach’s cantatas were written for special occasions and the church, they fell into obscurity soon after Bach’s death and were forgotten for nearly a century until Felix Mendelssohn rediscovered them in Leipzig. Today Bach’s 209 cantatas are widely performed and recorded in many parts of the world.

Round Hill Community Church is located at 395 Round Hill Road. All are welcome and childcare is available.
