Two generations of Bridges broke ground this week on a new facility at Sam Bridge Nursery & Greenhouses, which has been in town for more than eight decades.

The company is building a new “Nexus Greenhouse” that will house a new store, retail area, growing range, potting area and more. The new facility will improve efficiency in several ways, including collecting roof runoff which will be used for irrigation and conserving energy with the use of zone heating and open roofs, eliminating the need for cooling fans.

The Bridge family is excited about implementing improvements that will allow future generations to grow the business.

The nursery is currently open for business, offering a full selection of house plants and seasonal flowers just in time for Valentine’s Day.

The new greenhouse will be completed in time for spring shopping.
