There’s a rich legacy of dance in Greenwich, thanks to the sustained efforts of companies like Marcia Brooks/Various Works. The company hopes to grow the local dance landscape, drawing its professional dancers from Fairfield County, Westchester, and New York. At Greenwich Academy’s Massey Theater on Feb. 20 at 7 p.m., the company will present a short evening of repertory. Four pieces will be performed by company dancers Marcia Brooks, who is also the artistic director, Elizabeth Douglas, Theresa Hall, Annie Heinemann, Kimberly Lantz, Pat Miller and Meghan Schardt. In addition, special guests from the greater dance community will join to perform a structured improvisation. A reception will follow the performance and audience members will have the opportunity to meet the dancers and hear more about the company’s work. A light dinner will be provided by Chris Geideman, executive chef of CREW restaurant of Greenwich.
