Seven Brunswick baseball players honored by FAA

Following Brunswick’s 2012 FAA championship win against Hopkins, four of its leaders were recognized by the league for their outstanding contributions. Pictured from left are Jack Voigt, Brandon Muto, Sam Fraser and Brian Schutzman. Voigt, team captain, led Brunswick in batting with a .406 average. The senior shortstop also had a 6-2 record on the mound and was voted team MVP. Muto, senior catcher and catalyst for the team defensively, had 23 put outs from behind home plate in only 21 games. Fraser, a junior, batted .378 with two home runs and led the team in runs scored with 25. Schutzman, Brunswick’s standout pitcher, and two-time Pitcher of the Year, finished the season with a 1.59 earned run average. The senior also recorded 47 strikeouts in 48.1 innings pitched. Junior third baseman Justin Cedeno, junior infielder Ryan Hardin and sophomore pitcher Bradley Wilpon were each All-FAA Honorable Mention selections.
