Chinese, Korean ceramics talk at Bruce Museum

Learn all about Chinese and Korean ceramics at an event presented by the Connecticut Ceramics Study Circle.

On Monday, Feb. 10 at 1:15 p.m., preeminent scholar of Asian Art, Robert D. Mowry, will deliver a talk comparing Chinese and Korean ceramics. He will focus on celadons of the Korean Goryeo and Chinese Song dynasties, as well as porcelains of the Chinese Ming/Qing and Korean Joseon dynasties.

Mr. Mowry spent more than 25 years as a senior curator at the Harvard Art Museums, where he was both curator of Chinese Art and Head of the Department of Asian Art.

Under his stewardship, Harvard added numerous significant works to its collections of Asian art. He recently joined Christie’s as senior consultant to the Asian Art departments.

This lecture is a highlight of the Connecticut Ceramics Study Circle’s 25th year of presenting educational programs on wide-ranging topics in ceramic arts.

The lecture fee for non-members is $25. Tea and refreshments will be provided following the presentation.
