Greenwich Academy swim team blasts Hamden Hall, 92-63

Another day, another victory for the Greenwich Academy swim team. On Saturday afternoon, they traveled to Hamden Hall Country Day School and came away with the 92-63 victory.

In the 200-yard freestyle, Kitty Arenz won the event for GA with a time of 2:03.17. She once again struck gold in the longest event of the day, the 500-yard freestyle, as Arenz touched the wall with a time of 5:37.96.

Greenwich Academy’s Quinn Scannell was also a dual gold medalist. In the 100-yard butterfly event, she won with a time of 1:02.04. Not to be outdone, Scannell struck gold again, this time in the 100-yard backstroke, posting a time of 1:02.46.

In the two quickest events of the match, Greenwich Academy’s Sydney Heath took top honors. First in the 50-yard freestyle, Heath touched the wall with a time of 27.24 seconds. Heath also competed in the 100-yard freestyle and took first place overall with a time of 59.52.

Competing in the 200-yard individual medley, Hannah Subramaniam finished first overall, netting a time of 2:24.14. In the diving portion of the competition, Greenwich Academy’s Elizabeth Fitzpatrick won the event with 243.75 points.

When it came to the relay events, the Gators won two of the three races. In the 200-yard freestyle relay, the foursome of Subramaniam, Megan Apostolities, Heath and Arenz won the event with a time of 1:50.68. In the 400-yard freestyle relay, the GA team of Scannell, Arenz, Regan Cowin and Apostolities touched the wall first with a time of 3:57.24.
